As a team, Providence provides outstanding care when working with families, especially families who have experienced trauma. We have six therapists that have been trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) (training specific to trauma). We have two therapists on staff that are trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Everyone has a shared desire to help not only the individual they are working with to recover, but also to see the family unit mend as a whole. We understand that when something terrible happens to one member of the family, it can impact the entire family. Each family member may respond differently to the same crisis. Often, this can change the family dynamic. To help make this shift a healthy process, we will work with the individuals as well as provide family counseling sessions.
